Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during our first session?

The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other, to discuss what some of your concerns might be, what life has been like for you recently. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions, to get to know more about how I work, and what are upcoming sessions can be about. We will discuss both our expectations, and see if we are a fit together. The first session is not a commitment for any future sessions. Typically we will take the first one or two sessions to see if we want to keep working together or either going in a different direction.

Does something have to be "wrong" with me in order to benefit from therapy?

Not at all. My focus is on personal growth, which could also mean that you feel that something is "missing" in life, rather than having the feeling something is "wrong".

What are your hours?

I currently only work during weekdays, and I am occasionally available during evenings too. My hours are 09:00 - 5:00 Wednesday and Friday, and Thursday 10:00 - 20:00.

Do you take insurance?

I am a licensed psychologist trained in the Netherlands and France, with an official recognition both in the Netherlands and France (numéro RPPS 10109938554), this means that if you have therapy sessions covered by your insurance you would be able to get it reimbursed. However, it depends on your personal insurance (mutuel) whether you have therapy sessions covered. I would suggest to check with your insurance before starting our sessions.

How long is a session, what is the cost and how do I pay?

Sessions are 50 minutes in length, I charge 100 euro's per session, however I do use some sliding scales for students or unemployed people. Please reach out to me to learn more. Payment is accepted in form of cash or card

What languages do we speak during sessions?

I accept clients that speak English or either Dutch, which is my mother tongue.

What kind of commitment do I need to make?

In the beginning of our work together, I ask clients to commit to therapy sessions at least once every two weeks. This helps to create consistency and to create the change we want to see. Later on we can see if you prefer to have a bit more time during our sessions, which we can discuss together. Depending on your needs I aim for 5 to 10 sessions, but we can always discuss your personal needs. Furthermore, my therapy is based on cognitive behavioral therapy which means that we will work with “take home” assignments, which means that you will have to commit to work on this in your own time outside the therapy space.
